MSci Marine Biology, First Aid at Work.

I have always had a strong interest in the natural world, primarily moulded by a childhood bookshelf filled with science and animal related literature, along with the dulcet tones of David Attenborough. This led me to study Marine Biology at the University of Southampton, a course jam packed with field trips and opportunities to study life in situ. A module of Teaching Assistant experience opened up the prospect of working in outdoor education to me.

After leaving university I spent two years working for an outdoor education centre in the United Arab Emirates, teaching field studies courses alongside outdoor activities and Duke of Edinburgh International Award hikes. Having ticked off experiencing daily sweat and dehydration, and missing the beautiful sight of a green tree and a running river, I am now enjoying much more sensible temperatures of Yorkshire! (Expect an edit after winter)

Outside of work, I can be found exploring the shipwrecks of the North Sea or playing with seals while scuba diving, or failing to cycle up the local hills on my bike.
