I gained my interest in the outdoors at an early age through Scouting and it was this passion for the outdoors that led me to study geography at University. Whilst at University I was lucky enough to go on field trips to many different field centres across the world from the Lake District to the Mojave Desert (California). After completing my degree I undertook a masters in Environmental and Energy Engineering. This took me down some very interesting avenues including: renewable energies, environmental protection, waste management and many more. After graduating from my masters I took up a position as a field studies tutor at a centre in North Norfolk.  Here I enjoyed 8 months of teaching geography as well as outdoor education before moving  to the Cranedale Centre. I enjoy spending my free time outdoors, visiting the Lake District and Snowdonia as often as possible and I am also a keen sportsman.
