BSc (Hons) Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science (University of Sussex), First aid at Work

Being out in nature bird-watching, insect finding or just cloud-watching has always been where I best liked to be. Naturally, this led to me seeking a career path to the outdoors, starting with my BSc (hons) Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science degree. This gave me vast experience of ecological fieldwork, from standing in rivers, to hunting for suitable bat roosts and classifying habitats based on plant life.

Before reaching Cranedale, I spent an incredible 6 weeks in the Peruvian Amazon volunteering with primate research. From following and mapping territories and deploying audio recorders, it certainly highlighted the real-world implications of fieldwork as well as the challenges and showed the massive species diversity that exists.

When outside Cranedale, you’ll probably find me hiking with my trusty camera or curled up in a corner with a good book.
