BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences (University of Plymouth), First Aid at Work

I simply love engaging people with the natural world and I have been very fortunate for many years, to be able to do this as my job. Now I find myself immersed in the wilds and wonders of North Yorkshire, after a move from the south, and sharp period of temperature acclimatisation!

Since leaving university I have taken up posts in outdoor education with the Wildlife Trust, Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and the Field Studies Council. Throughout these roles I have enjoyed helping to enhance young people’s knowledge of local environments and boost their confidence in outdoor studies.

My free time is largely directed by constant ‘itchy feet’ for adventure and travel. I have been lucky enough to visit countries in Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas, soaking up the geography and of course plenty of football watching along the way! However, I am just as curious to hop on my bike for a few days to explore good ol ‘Blighty’.
